The latest exciting project with GG Hospitality was to launch an exclusive 5 star hotel in central Manchester. The old stock exchange building in the centre of the city provided the perfect canvas on which to create a stunning, luxury experience that taps into the heart and history of the city. With grand halls, exceptional quality and scrupulous attention to detail, not to mention a restaurant by Tom Kerridge, the Stock Exchange is one of the most exciting hotels in Manchester.
Working with Umi Digital
From an early stage, Umi Digital was appointed as the marketing technology partner for the project and worked closely to handpick some of the best marketing technology available. The foundation of the project was to develop a fully bespoke website to act as the conversion point for the multiple revenue streams in the hotel. The teams worked closely together to finely balance conversion optimisation with experiential brand communication; often having to reshape the project as the brand evolved over time.
Due to the high profile launch of the site, the front-end team worked very closely with server engineers to ensure that the site was ready to accept up to 500k requests on the first day. Through efficient code and caching layers, the team prepared the site for launch.
An exciting launch date arrived with social PR scheduled for the morning. The site performed beautifully, serving cached content at super-fast speeds and generating strong levels of enquiry and direct bookings on the day of launch.
